My name is Romina Tonkovic, currently part of the ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre Ivan Pl. Zajc. 

Since my first year as an acting student at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, where I went to study in the class of Rade Serbedzija, I began participating in professional projects and making a living from the acting profession. My first feature film, F20, took me to festivals around the region and showed me how film festivals can be gatherings of cross-regional friendships and collaborations. For my Master’s degree, I chose to attend the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb to maximize my network and further develop my skills with professors who’s work inspired me such as Bobo Jelcic, Mladen Vasari, and Tomislav Ralis. This desire to meet colleagues I admire and to learn from them has been the driving force behind my education, career. 

 I feel passion and determination more than ever to make the most of my opportunities so far. I am grateful for the good fortune I had in immediately passing the auditions to become part of the ensemble at a theatre, giving me both financial stability and a space to keep working creatively over the past few years. However, I feel a great desire to keep moving forward and expanding my network internationally.
I am a passionate cook and dancer.
