Zübeyde Bulut was born 1986 in Besiri, Turkey. 
In 1989 the Buluts family fled their home, moving to northern Germany due to their Yezidi belief and political views. After receiving her degree in drama from a well respected Berlin acting academy, Zübeyde embarked on her acting career playing in many theatre plays and short films before landing the role of “Lamia“ in Eva Husson´s feature film “Girls of the Sun“ nominated in 2018 at the Cannes International Film Festival for best picture. Since then Zübeyde has shot in four other feature films. 
“Atlas/The Mover“ (2018), which was nominated and won many prizes in Germany and the UK as well as Florian Hoffmann`s feature film “Stille Post“ (release in 2020) and 2023 broadcasted on public television.
In Daphne Charizani`s “Im Feuer/Sisters Apart“ Zübeyde plays in her first leading role in a feature film. This film premiered at the Berlinale 2020 in the “Perspectives“ category. The drama “Im Feuer/Sisters Apart“ won the Grimme Prize in 2023 for the best fiction in the competition.
In the Polnish blockbuster “Zenek“ (2020) Bulut, took on the challenge of playing in the Polnish and Sinti languages. 
On the small screen she shot in the international Belgian series “Black-Out“ (2021), directed by Joel Vanhoenbrouck in a large supporting role. 
In 2021/22, the novel “Die Krabbenwanderung“ by Karosh Taha was broadcast on the public radio station in which Zübeyde played the main speaker, Saana, who speaks German and Kurdish. Directed by Mizgin Bilmen.
In 2021 she was a jury member for the International Kurdish Film Festival in Duhok, Iraq for the category of long-form Kurdish feature films that were in competition. In 2023, Zübeyde was a jury member for the Kurdish Film Festival in Berlin for Kurdish short films that were shown in the competition.
Zübeyde is an avaid swimmer and inline skater. She speaks German and Kurdish as native speaker and speaks English and Spanish well.
