José, also known as Zé Condessa, is wrapping up filming for the TV series "Cacau" on TVI, where he holds a co-leading role in one of Portugal's top-rated shows. Concurrently, he's preparing for the second season of "Turn of The Tide" NETFLIX, reprising his role as protagonist Eduardo. This follows his success in the play "La Golondrina / A Andorinha" and his collaboration with Pedro Almodóvar on the film "Estraña Forma de Vida,” showcased at Cannes last May. On Netflix, he starred as Eduardo in "Rabo de Peixe," while on TV, he brought characters like Amaro in "O Crime do Padre Amaro" and David in "Bem Me Quer" to life. Beginning his TV journey in 2015 with "Jardins Proibidos,” he later appeared in series such as "Santa Bárbara,” "Rainha das Flores,” and "O Valor da Vida." In 2019, he joined the main cast of Rede Globo's "Salve-se Quem Puder." In theater, he's excelled in leading roles from "Peer Gynt” to "Romeu e Julieta.” In 2021, his portrayal of Hamlet, directed by Carlos Avilez, earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Theater Actor. Then in 2023, his depiction of Padre Amaro in the series "O Crime do Padre Amaro,” earned him the Golden Globe for Best Fiction Actor. Furthermore, his performance in "O Som Que Desce da Terra” earned him the DGArtes Award for Best Supporting Actor. He also showcased his talent in films like "O Implicado" and "Gabriel," portraying the antagonist. He completed his Acting Course at the Escola Profissional de Teatro de Cascais (2012-2015).
