This is Rakshya Thapa, a theatre artist of Nepal. I started my acting career since i was 18. I took classes from mandala theatre, Nepal. I am also doing Masters in sociology. I always had a problem in expressing myself. Since i started doing theatre, i found a way to express myself and others as well. I feel grateful for being able to raise a voice for those whose voices aren’t heard.  This is why i feel Acting as a job is very powerful and this is also why it makes me feel responsible as an actor. I feel like i have become more empathetic and acting has helped me grow empathy towards others. It makes us stand in their shoes and look at the world through their lens.  It shows us different perspectives. This is another reason i love my work. I enjoy working as an actor also because i get to to different characters and live different lives almost everyday which is so exciting. You start understanding people better and start to know that everyone has a backstory in their lives.  It teached us not to judge as who someone is today is because of their past. This is one of my biggest realizations that acting as a job has given me.  This is when i started having different perspectives which is really important. I have done 5 plays, 1 feature film, 4 short movies, many ads and musical films.   I did a french short movie recently which is yet to be released. That was truly an amazing experience for me as it was so different from the way we used to work in nepal with nepalese teams. I love meeting new people and learning from them which is why i want to work with as many teams from all around the world. I want to experience how different people from different countries work and learn from them.
