Raymi is a versatile Dutch actor, director, writer and producer. He has starred in a wide variety of television series, theatre plays and movies.  

 

Raymi is the artistic director of theatre group ‘Raymi Sambo Maakt’ which produces theatre plays about socially relevant topics. RSM created multiple successful theatre plays Mijn (Bij) Vrouw, Aan Niets Overleden, Op Zoek naar Oom Tom, HUID! F * ck the Police and Poker. The latest Raymi Sambo Maakt production in coproduction with Theatre group Aluin - Ik zeg toch sorry - is currently touring. Ik zeg toch sorry is produced, written and directed by Raymi Sambo himself. He also stars in the play as one of the leads.  

 

As an actor Raymi contributed to several theatre productions among which The Legendary Children, Amandla! Mandela,Rome & Juli's Posse, De Arabier van Amsterdam, MC Shake and Poz Paradise.  

 

Raymi also directed the controversial short film Premier, The Neighborhood, Pianissimo and the film adaptation of Aan Niets Overleden.  
 

Raymi played in television programs such as O Mijn Hemel, Spangas, All Stars, Zoop, Het Klokhuis, Toen was geluk heel gewoon and De Tijdreiziger. He also starred in a variety of movies among which All Stars, Don, Cheese, De Tussentijd and the multi-awarded Taiki.  

 

In 2020, Raymi made his comeback as the beloved character Paul Murphy in the tv-series All Stars & Zonen. In 2022 he acted in the miniseries Rampvlucht. 

 

In cooperation with de Melkweg, Raymi Sambo Maakt organizes the yearly event Je Suis..., an interdisciplinary evening show about current affairs in The Netherlands.
