Hello everybody!

My name is Sara Paganelli and I'm an Italian actress.

I was born in Bologna and at the age of twelve I moved to Milan, where I currently live.

I spent my teenage years studying Latin and Greek at school and watching old movies by B. Wilder, A.Hichcock, F.Truffaut, F.Fellini and other great classic masters.

My getting into acting came in my twenties. While I was studying Law at the University of Milan, I trained at Teatro della Contraddizione Drama School and I also took to singing. I graduated  with a thesis   titled "The trial  in Aristophanes" and  by the time I ended my apprenticeship as a lawyer, I had definetely realized that what I really wanted was being an actress.

In my early career, I joined Teatro della Contraddizione Company, an acclaimed avant-garde theatre group. Later on, I starred in the monologue The ball (2009), directed by A.Oliva, in the award-winning comedy  The strange story of a Merlot glass (2013) by F.Coratelli, in The grey hour (2019) by A.Kristof with IdeaTeatro company and in other smalIer productions.  I also performed as a solo-artist, writing my own shows. 

In fact I've written two comedies, Cinecittà here I am (2015) and Let's not talk about me (2017).

On set  I played  Sister  Clausura in the period drama film  Maddalena's song, by M.Campiotti, and journalist Loretta  Maggi in the short comedy Le Vecchiette del Monferrato , produced by SkyCinema.

On TV  I worked for Dea Kids, an Italian children Channel and for NickelOdeon. I also did  some commercials for international brands such as SkyTV, Adidas,Vodaphone.

More recently, I took part in two major projects : I'm in the TV series Made in Italy (2019), purchased by Amazon Prime Video and in the thriller film Security (2021) by Peter Chelsom, starring Marco D'Amore.

In 2018 I also wrote and directed  Swimming - today I decide, a  shortfim about the importance of listening to our children.  It's a project I'm very proud of, which  received a  Special Mention  at Worldwide Comedy London Film Festival 2018 and  an Honorable Mention  at One-Reeler Shortfilm Festival LA 2018.

I sing, play the piano and read tons of fantasy books. I'm in love with Lake Maggiore, where I've got a house.

In addition, once a year, I spend a week in Venice. I'm very fond of ginger. I'd like to find a politician who makes want to believe again. I'm still looking for her (him?).
