Hi! My name is Sofia and I'm an actress from Lisbon, Portugal. I did my professional acting training at The Atlantic Theatre Company's full-time conservatory, in New York, where I lived for three incredible years. During that time, I starred in my first feature film which made it to Portuguese theaters in 2020 after a great journey through the film festival circuit. More recently, I starred in the multiple award-winning short "Samanta: Evil Or Saint", for which I won my first Best Actress award. This short represented Portugal in the worldwide shortfilm competition Filmapalooza 2022, which took place in Washington D.C.. My passion for storytelling led me to create my production company, Story In A Box, which is focused on the development of impactful content that adds new perspectives to audiovisual industry, and which is fully committed to inclusivity and accessibility, opening up a dialogue about and how powerful the film industry can be as an agent of change.
I am hard of hearing, I wear hearing aids, and I'm currently learning Portuguese Sign Language.
I'm fluent in English and my Spanish speaking is good. 
I am committed to the continual investment in my career in film, TV and theatre, in both Europe and the US.
