Thuy Nguyen (they/them) is a Dutch trans/non-binary actor and filmmaker based in Rotterdam. They were born and raised in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. Their ancestry is Vietnamese/Chinese (mother and father).

They found their talent in entertainment only recently, in May 2022, when they had the chance to play a featured extra role in Anoniem (2023), a Dutch television series produced by BNNVARA. Since then, they went on to play different roles in short films and series, most notably the supporting role of 'marketing agent' in the Dutch television series Rotown Magic by director Fadua El Akchaoui, which is produced by NPO. The series is set for release in 2024.

Since February '23, Nguyen has ventured into filmmaking, creating their first self-written short film Stiletto, an Asian-Dutch LGBTQIA+ story, in which they also play the lead role of Kiên. The short premiered at CinemAsia Film Festival '23 in Amsterdam. Nguyen's debut film Stiletto is officially selected for Nederlands Film Festival (NFF) on September 25th '23. After the screening of their film, Nguyen joined a panel talk about Queer Asian Representation with two fellow queer Asian filmmakers, hosted by NFF x QFFU x PAC (Pan Asian Collective).

Their second self-written short film, Coffee House, is a Dutch/English-spoken crime/drama/romance and is fully self-produced and self-funded, in which Nguyen plays the lead role of Jamie. Coffee House premiered at Queer Film Festival Utrecht (QFFU) in September '23 and made it to the top 3 Best Shorts out of the ten films shown.

As a commercial model & actor, Nguyen has appeared in commercials and photo shoots for Brussels Airport, Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid (Ministry of Justice and Security), Nederlandse Filmacademie, Bauhaus among others.
